Hi everyone,
i keep having this problem with my car. normally it starts up fine and runs, however every once and a while i get this problem where the car will not start.
after putting the key into the ign. and turning it to start you here a click, but the engine does not turn over (the starter doesn't run) the car also locks itself automactically. the ABS, fog lights, traction, and radiator lights turn on. if the key is removed and you step on the brakes, all the previous mentioned lights glow back up slowly. the car cannot be taken out of park when the key is in and pressing on the brake. when the key is turned to ACC, the radio does not power on, the sun roof does not work, but the windows work, barely, they go extremely slow and sometimes do not function at all. the battery is charged so that is not the problem.

any ideas?

i forgot to mention, last time this happend i had it towed to a shop, however when it got to the shop it started fine.

850's have a common ignition problem..... I am not quite sure what all the symptoms are but it sure sounds like it all has to do with your ignition? Did anyone take a look at it?

The battery maybe properly charged but battery terminal connections may not be clean or tight. See if you can freely turn wire connectors on battery terminals.

battery terminal is fine, i actually removed the battery for a while to see if tha twould fix the problem, which it didnt.

Hm...Ignition switch maybe on its way out. How often do you have non-start problem? Has it been happening more often since the first non start?

My car did the same thing, it was the connections of the ignition, cost $75.00 to fix

My 740 actually had that problem too. The dealer fixed it for $90.
