Need a little help,
Three time now on the highway my 94 854 just dies. I pull off to the side and what a couple minutes then it startes again but with my check engine light on and the trans up arrow flashing. I haven't pulled the most recent code because I don't know which it the trans reader code. I was wondering if it could be fuel delivery or tran related. Any help would be GREAT!!

Sounds like you need a new throttle position sensor. I had a problem w/ mine that would cause the car to die a bit over a year ago. Part is very easy to install if you just take the throttle body off. Plan on getting a new throttle body gasket as well. These parts will run you about $50 together at FCP Groton. I was in a squeeze and went to the dealer. Cost about $85.

How did you come to that conclusion I thought it was the PNP switch.
What do the A1 codes mean?

Both the TCU and the ECU receive a signal from the throttle position sensor.
Of course, the faulty load signal from ignition module could be causing problems, but that is not a common code, and I wouldn't bother w/ it unless you replace the TPS and are still experiencing the dying and this code returns.

Would this also make difficult to start at times?

Nope, shouldn't affect that. Hard starting could be a lot of things, possibly that ignition code, or it could be the cam pos. sensor, maybe a fuel pump problem. I'd deal w/ the dying issue first though.

When it won't start and also when it dies and if I leave to car on I don't hear the ussual hum under the hood like some kind of pump or something. It also makes that sound when I clear any A2 codes. What that??
