So we're taking it to the Swedish Car Clinic on Friday, but I want to go over a few issues with y'all.
The CEL is on, we scanned it Saturday (forgot the code though - but it was a low pressure vacuum issue) and replaced some disintegrating hoses that are like 3" x 1/4" each, on either side of a valve, near a solenoid that's attached to the top of the back of the radiator. The solenoid thing is part of the vacuum, and looks like it's brand new. The CEL came back on yesterday, so about 3 days later.
Yesterday it was raining allot out here, all the wipers work fine, but the drivers headlamp wiper decided to stay in the upright position. I noticed that later in the evening, it had gone nearly all the way down. Do these just go automatically when wipers are on? I couldn't find anything about them in the Manual besides how to replace the blades.
There is an annoying squeak that's under the dash, above the passenger air-bag unit. I took out the glove box and looked around, hit the dash a few times and know for certain that's where the squeak is. I assume they'll have to pull the dash out to tighten it down. I can't stand squeaks or rattles in cars, my Q45 is nearly silent, even at 100 mph.
The drivers seat has an annoying creak that I noticed in an 850 wagon we looked at too. It sounds like it's the hinge on the seat-back that's by the center console. Also on the drivers seat, the height motor for the rear half of the seat is all the way down and doesn't work, you can hear it click though.
When we bought the car, we bought the 2 year 24k extended warranty, so hopefully most of this stuff will be covered. The car smells a bit like coolant, and I know from Carfax that the radiator was replaced in Sept last year, and again in January, so we'll change the cabin air filters, and hope the smell is gone after that. So any ideas or suggestions as to what any of this stuff might be, or if any of you have had similar things, I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks!!
