Ok well my dad is a dumbass and bought a S60 T5! He bought it because he saw the thread for the Chip and exhaust, the porsche was too long for him to wait and maserati didnt like that much especially for the price. So he his planning on a chip, exhaust, lowering kit, im making him at least buy the R wheels. But who cares its still a nice car and im looking forward to modding it. can someone send me the link for the chip? He wants to have it shipped by the time he picks it up at noon tomorrow ha. Or will the 01-04 chip work?

S60R is the fastest volvo, you can't even speed that much here in Michigan anyways

O i speed plenty here dont forget in Grosse Pointe your never more than a mile away from Detroit and in Detroit they have speed "suggestions" I raced my mercedes going probably 75-100mph for a about 4 or 5 miles on jefferson (35mph zone) and saw one cop and didnt even get pulled over.

Yeah that would be like buying a T5 instead of a R when your looking at porsches lol, and i cant let my dad save money on everything except he was already getting a sweeeeet deal on that R his quote was 42k with everything except for Navi because he wanted the center speaker. And the MSRP was 48k

i'd have to agree.

if you want to go fast, you want to die, if you want to die, don't buy a volvo wink.gif

wow
94 855t
dawes mbc @ 12-15psi depending on climate (Darn cutout)
dirty k+n cone + kevin's old ghettorigged heatshield (need to move onto slater's "ghetto" style setup)
bfg trac t/a 205/50/16s (pretty decent for a standard tire but they're no toyo)

I'd much rather have a new T5 than a new R. The new R was nothing but a lot of hype followed by a lot of dissappointment.

Chip, downpipe, exhaust and a T5 will break 13s.

So! Chip downpipe and exhaust and the R will break drive line components.

Moah..

They made a few bad angle gears..

My S60T5/19T/3" truboback needed a set of driveshafts a year.
So far my S60R/chip/Dp is still on it's original angle gear at 35K miles

Really the R looked like such a well put together vehicle, there were a lot of really cool things about the car, not like some car company's, there version of high performance vehicle is bolting a turbo or supercharger on and calling it a day. Thats sad about the R I would have expected better, but whatever it sounded nice and drove veryyy nice when i drove it. They didnt have any manuals at the dealership though??? huh.gif

The R's attempted "cockpit" design didn't work well for me. I'm about 6'3" with broad shoulders and it wasn't too comfy. The XC90 V8 was a much better fit.

I love my R, and have a smile everytime I drive it and the seats are the best in the business. Just my opinion.
