ok i was driving and all of the sudden my overdrive arow starts flashing
i opened the hood pressed the button where the codes are, well i guess it reseted the computer
ok arrow dissapeared
but appeared after one day

i thought ity must be Pn switch but i took look at the relay under steering wheel
i pulled every one of the relays turn the ignition on still flashes repeated it couple of times and started still there next i turned it in it was gone

Drove for about 2 weeks and everything is OK but today it started again
DID the same thing with relay and there is no sign what so ever

called Volvo they said there no relays for transmission sad.gif (only alarm seat belts defroster and etc)

well if there no relays what happened to it? Can in it be just the switch(S,E Winter)

will Volvo will be able to make computer diagnostic without this arrow flashing? Will they charge for that?

ANY HELP FROM ANYBODY !!

seems like PNP or something...is it shifting okay, or is the light just on? is the light flashing or steady? pulling relays all day long will not solve the problem. in fact, you may cause another one by doing that....i've learned that on our cars, everytime you touch something, something else will break or malfunction, so stop doing that.

get the codes checked at the volvo dealer or independent mechanic, and go from there....let us know what the codes are, and we can help you out!

under your hood, near the passenger's side headlight there is a black box with a hose that goes to the radiator fan. sticking out from the front of this is the diagnostic station. remove the left cover, put the black wire that is sticking out from the front into socket A1. turn on your ignition (to run, not acc or start).

press the little button right there next to the wire for about a second, and make note of what the red Light does.

it will flash a sequence at you, kinda like morse code. if there are 3 small pulses, then a pause, then 6 small pulses, then a pause, then 1 pulse, and nothing.. thats a 361 (imaginary code, just for example). 10 pulses mean a zero.
once it stops, hit the button again for 1 second, and see if it displays a different code. repeat till the first code comes around again.

compare the codes you get to this list : http://volvospeed.com/Repair/ElectronicTra...ionSocketA1.php

and get back with us.

depending on the code it can store it and turn the light off if it's not deemed important enough.

if you get no code, you need to drive the car till it acts up again, when you get where you are going, shut the car down, immediately turn the ignition back on, and check the code.

A1:
114- Program selector open-circuit or short-circuit to supply
313- Faulty signal from gear position sensor
223- Throttle position sensor signal too low
122- Solenoid S1 open circuit
211- Transmission control module fault
114- Program selector open-circuit or short-circuit to supply

Check the TCM to see if it's plugged in properly or it's not filthy where it's plugged in. As for the rest. I don't know. Maybe some experts can help. Also, try resetting and see if any comes back.
