One of the easiest things to do. If you're in the USA, especially on the East coast, the best place to order the belt is FCPgroton.com. On my S70, you need a 3/4 inch breaker bar or the equivalent to rotate the tensioner and remove the belt. I'm assuming it's the same on your 850, but if it's not, I'm sure someone else will chime in and tell us. People have also made up their own homemade tools to stick in the 3/4 inch square drive hole to remove the tension. After you remove the tension on the belt; just slip it off and put the new one on. Make a note of how the belt is threaded through the pulleys, Volvo did a change, with the S70s anyway, and the diagrams don't always match the actual routing. The belt is very snug to slip on but it will go.
