I am going to be doing some rear break work and wanted to know the best way to jack up the rear? I tried unsuccessfully last time - I tride on the rear tow hook and it just stated bending the floor in!!!

Also where should I place the jack stands?

Thanks guys

haha.... there is a jack point under the front doors.. this will lift up one side of the car.. slide a jack stand under the rear... make sure its hard metal and not the floor! and then repeat on the other side

we used the rear tow hook on my car to jack up the front without any issues....we used one of those racing jacks with the large pad on it though.

You can also use the part of the suspension right in front of the rear wheels under the car (not the center jack points, but there is a little round part of the suspension with a nut on it). we used that for the jack stand supports since my car has no jack points anymore.

AHHHH

See I was trying to lift the entire rear end at once!!

SO i lift one side - put the stand in....go to the other side and jack it up and put the stand in over there?

That will put the car at a odd position after the first side no? only 3 wheels touching? then on the second jack only 1 wheel touching??

haha that sounds wrong!!! or is that the way it happens?

also any specific rear points for the jack stands?? I mean i thought i had put it on the chasie before...but it started sinking in so i aborted!

That should do it. It will be just like if you were trying to change a flat. Only one wheel off the ground, til you get around to jacking the other side. Be careful and make sure you get it right before working on anything under or on the car.

OK that doesnt fit with what I said does it?

Changing a flat via the center jack point will lift 2 tires.

Also im most concened about the 2nd lift....only 1 wheel will be on the ground! haha that cant be good for the car!

Why does the rear have to be so hard when the front is so easy! haha
