Just curious. On the older Chevy engines like the 327 sb for instance, it had the crankcase breather on the top of the valve cover. Well, all of the Chevy engines of past had them and some still do. My Dads 53 F100 has them on his valve covers. They are made by Offy. I do not know if they are still made.

At any rate with the problems we have with our crankcase ventilation systems we have on our Volvos could it be safe to install an Offenhauser crankcase breather on our engines blocks? ( fab a bracket that will adapt the breather to the tube that comes off the block...It could also eliminate the need to give the TB a good scrubbing. This setup can be hid underneith the intake plenum away from the prying eyes of our local state inspectors.

Would this mod set off any codes? Does the turbo or any other system need this hooked up? ( noteing all the pesky vacume hoses.)

I have not delved into mine but I am fixin to and I am trying to come up with a more permenant solution to this issue we all have.

Any thoughts?
I have a 97 855T5 now, have had 6 other Volvos in the past. Sux I aint got um any more!
