Car is a 1998 S70 T5 Manual.
So, while downshifting coming up to a light today I heard a grinding noise from 3200-4000 RPM as the revs were lowering. When I got back on the gas and slowly crept through that RPM band I could hear the same sound again, whether in 2nd or 3rd gear, even in neutral.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Joseph
It only happens during that RPM range, though.
The sound sounds as if it is coming from behind the steering wheel area.

How about the upper torque mount. Especially the mount that attaches to the firewall.

Kevin, I'll see what I can do.
hmmm, I replaced the upper torque mount, however the one that attaches to the firewall itself is still original.
