Hey guys,

New to me 96 850R, before this I had a 94 855T. Well come to find out after changing all of my basic vac lines with the stylin silicon kit, I have the drea blink.gif ded line off of the passanger side of the manifold tucked under the raditor hose. Darn! My 94 didnt have this one!

Can anyone give me hints on how to change this bad boy out? I have seen the link in Bay13 just wondering if anyone has anymore info. IE like where it leads to? Can I just changed the hose and reroute it through the engine bay or is the other half under the manifold. It is leaking badly, its still connected but the elbow is mush and I hear the dreaded sound of a leak! DARN!!!!!

Please any if you have any info post!
Thanks
Paul

Okay, this is what I have done since I don't have time to open up the intake manifold. I put a cap over that nipple on the intake manifold. Then, I disconnected the other end of the vac line (it's attached to the PCV heater valve on the airbox to turbo pipe, right next to the turbo. Then, I ran a vac line from the vac tree to the PCV valve. Done deal. As long as you have manifold pressure (which the vac tree does), then you're not affecting anything.

Yup, that'll definitely work, or if you don't have a cap but you have enough hose (like 4mm maybe), just run it all the way from the intake manifold to the PCV. There's another rubber elbow right where the fresh air intake hose enters the turbo itself. That's were the other end of the hose goes. There's a module (heater) there too with an electrical connector. It may be hard to find ... probably covered with a lot of oil blow-by. It's #10 in this picture, #13 is the elbow you have already found.

Just wanted to thank you guys for your input. I did a search after the post (yeah I know) and found the info you gave me. What would I do without Volvospeed!!!!!!!! I dont know which method I will be doing yet. Going to see how much hose I have left or I just might go buy some standard black hose and use it anyone know the size? 4mm? Again thanks for the replys and for Volvospeed!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys
Paul

4mm is the size you'll need with zip ties. 3.5mm will work too, but will be a tight fit around that intake manifold nipple, so you're better off with 4mm and zip ties. i still recommend running from the vac tree only because it's shorter, and doesn't go over the engine and stuff. the vac tree is just a 1.5' straight shot to the PCV valve there basically. i've done both ways, and they both work, but I found the vac tree run to be cleaner and less of a hassle.

I have been thinking overnight on how to accomplish this. I do agree that the vac tree route would be a LOT easier. Could I just cap off the manifold with the cap that I will be taking off the vac tree?

Thanks in advance!

The caps on my vac tree are really hard, and brittle. Darn Arizona heat. If they're soft enough, you should be fine. The manifold nipple has a little ridge around the tip to keep the hose on. The cap has to be soft enough to stretch around that and still seal the nipple. If it is, you're golden. Otherwise, vacuum caps can be had at your local auto parts store at ~$2 for a 5-pack. They're very handy to have around, and double as bleeder-screw caps, too!
