Where did you get the turbo?

Traded a dead/headless parakeet to a blind kid for it.

he got it from CJ at the davis meet iirc.

CJ was just listing it, he got the turbo from Bert (azinwa). It didn't have any shaft play before it went onto the car :(

yeh im pretty sure it didnt. i mean it has like a few thousand miles on the turbo so......its just gonna be rebuilt and hopefully itll hold up.

something funny is going on with the CBV though.

Have you thought about trying to sneak it through under a parts warranty? It is obviously not that old.

Not on an R model car (or any car for that matter at the moment), no VIN# from the car it came from, no odometer reading to show how many miles are on it... I have trouble seeing how Volvo would do a warranty replacement/fix on it without any real background on it. Only thing it does have (hopefully) is the name plate with the serial number, maybe that's enough for Volvo?

That is why I said parts warranty, all volvo parts some with a one year unlimited mileage warranty. But now that I think about it, they might have some questions about who installed it.

So that way I will lose my job in addition to the turbo not getting fixed, I think not. I am not allowed to work on Volvos other than my own outside of work.

I'll be surprised if you make 250whp, just being honest. Don't see how the mods you have will net over 300 on a stock head/block.

oh the expert spoketh.

I've seen plenty of 240's make 220-230whp on kjet, smaller turbos and less mods with out issues other than being extremely fuel limited. Brians car can make 250-260whp with out to much issue I think reliably. On kito's dyno that will be pretty close to 280-290whp.

There ARE 300whp redblocks with stock heads and internals on turbobricks. Its not that hard.

Brian

Find yourself a blowoff valve cuz when i'm done with this thing it won't have a CBV.

Oil starvation killed it fo sho, when I got it it was tighter than a cows ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD at fly time

The turbo came from Scott @ IPD along with the R manifold thats on my car.
