Well I think the ST chip is overlooked by many because its a "no name" sort of product and only cost $325. Well I promised Oliver I would give people "feedback" on his product. So I drove to his facilities in Spencerville Maryland. I live in md only a 30min drive. He askes me if I want the 17psi or the 15psi. He explains that the 17psi program actually only uses 15psi in 1st and 2nd gear then 17 in 3rd and 4th. So far I have only gotta into third maybe 5 or 6 times but WOW. The car pulls almost has hard in 3rd and it does it second. Oliver had me outta there in less than an hour. So I felt the difference ,but wanted to see how apparent it was so next time my friend chris rode in the car I laid into it and he was like "dude your car is runnin really good today is it the weather cazs its haulin jerk" Thats when I knew if my friend notices without me tellin him this was a great product. Thats my .02 Anyone else with the ST Chip should comment on their expirience with it so far. If your like me and driven a volvo that u bought for under 2,000 u dont wanna drop over 800! for a chip Speedtuning is definetly a great option. Cant wait till i get my 16T and down pipe so I can lean out the AFR's. I hear the ST runs a little rich ,but definetly better than lean!

yeah, I liked my ST chip also, but it's limited to the 15g and 16t.....after that point, you want custom

in fact, if you can go custom to begin with, you'd be alot happier.

Ask Jason about the difference between his generic ST chip and the custom BSR he has now.

i agree, i wish i would have just pulled out the stops and put on the 19T and RICA map i wanted to go with at first but oh well you live and learn. but i don like the ST chip alot and have a DP and exhaust so my car takes advantage of the 17psi.

no one said speedtuning was bad
it's a very good chip for the price if you plan on staying with stock stuff

I had a bad experience with Oliver....He sent me Seans (white850turbo) ECU, and sent Sean my ECU. He refused to reimburse us for down time or shipping.... He was also rude to me on the phone several occasions, and threatened to null and void my warranty. To say the least, I wish I would have went with RICA..

I had a very odd issue with Oliver. Unlike all the rude feedback that my friends have previously gotten I had a warranty issue with my chip and he at least had me just spend $125 and get another ecu tuned. So I guess at the least he was semi-nice to me over the phone and all.

Overall review of the tune- Yea, it's better than stock for sure, but then again anything is better than stock. I'd say just save your money and get a better tune...It would have saved me money dry.gif

You have issues with everyone you buy something from rolleyes.gif

I had my ECU tuned to 17 psi. My car ran way to rich and smelled like gas constantly. Car would also boost way to fast and suddenly.

I recommend the IPD upgrade smile.gif

An effective upgrade for the price, but I'm wishing I had spent more money on a custom tune. This beast runs mega-rich on a 3" dp.

Does anyone know if Oliver could map a chip for the upgrades you already have on your car, such as downpipe, exhaust, so that it would not run rich?

For $325, it's a tough deal to beat. Oliver was helpful throughout the process, was patient while I eliminated my maintenance issues, etc...

I'd recommend it if youy're not trying to get too crazy with the car. I have mine at 13 psi and the numbers are acceptable: 191 whp and 227 tq on a stock set up. Runs slightly rich, but Oliver will work with you if you mention that you want to maintain your AFR curve within reason.

Patrick:

ST USA can tune your ECU as stated on their website, which is a gain in hp and torque, etc... These are generic, 'basic' tunes.

Or, you can contact them and do stages. For example: since I wasn't sure about what their website stated, I had a custom tune done on mine: we used similar numbers as the website, but pegged the boost at 12 psi. Oliver calls my tune stage 1 (I think, it may be stage 0, I get confused easily monkey.gif). Next tune (if there is one done) will be stage 2 with them, increased power again, etc... That would involve using my spare 16T since my 13G would be out of its efficiency range at that point.

For custom tune, Oliver does ask to see some base dyno numbers so that he has all the info needed to tune your ECU to whatever specs you want.

I've asked them about converting my ECU to accept a manual tranny and his answer was: haven't done it, but I'd be happy too, anything's possible with a Bosch. Sooo, basically, ask the man and he'll walk you through your options.

ok thanks, id be happy to work with him since its half the price of RICA

also what is the time frame on this? if i dyno's my car and sent him the info, how long till i could expect the tuned ECU to show up?

You will have to send your ECU with the information, but if you overnight it to him on monday he gets it tuesday and overnights it back the latest you would get it back would be thursday.
