in fact, if you can go custom to begin with, you'd be alot happier.
Ask Jason about the difference between his generic ST chip and the custom BSR he has now.

i agree, i wish i would have just pulled out the stops and put on the 19T and RICA map i wanted to go with at first but oh well you live and learn. but i don like the ST chip alot and have a DP and exhaust so my car takes advantage of the 17psi.

Overall review of the tune- Yea, it's better than stock for sure, but then again anything is better than stock. I'd say just save your money and get a better tune...It would have saved me money

You have issues with everyone you buy something from
I had my ECU tuned to 17 psi. My car ran way to rich and smelled like gas constantly. Car would also boost way to fast and suddenly.
I recommend the IPD upgrade

Does anyone know if Oliver could map a chip for the upgrades you already have on your car, such as downpipe, exhaust, so that it would not run rich?

I'd recommend it if youy're not trying to get too crazy with the car. I have mine at 13 psi and the numbers are acceptable: 191 whp and 227 tq on a stock set up. Runs slightly rich, but Oliver will work with you if you mention that you want to maintain your AFR curve within reason.

Patrick:
ST USA can tune your ECU as stated on their website, which is a gain in hp and torque, etc... These are generic, 'basic' tunes.
Or, you can contact them and do stages. For example: since I wasn't sure about what their website stated, I had a custom tune done on mine: we used similar numbers as the website, but pegged the boost at 12 psi. Oliver calls my tune stage 1 (I think, it may be stage 0, I get confused easily
For custom tune, Oliver does ask to see some base dyno numbers so that he has all the info needed to tune your ECU to whatever specs you want.
I've asked them about converting my ECU to accept a manual tranny and his answer was: haven't done it, but I'd be happy too, anything's possible with a Bosch. Sooo, basically, ask the man and he'll walk you through your options.

ok thanks, id be happy to work with him since its half the price of RICA
also what is the time frame on this? if i dyno's my car and sent him the info, how long till i could expect the tuned ECU to show up?

You will have to send your ECU with the information, but if you overnight it to him on monday he gets it tuesday and overnights it back the latest you would get it back would be thursday.
