Ok so I have changed the CBV and associated vacuum lines. I am still getting excessive boost (upwards of 20 psi this time) and the boost is still fluttery when in the high psi (15+). The car feels very sluggish now when pulling away and but it boosts to higher psi (15+) extremely quickly and gets to almost 20psi with no problems. I am living at around 5000-6000 feet and at idle in drive I get just over 20 inHg. The vacuum stays constant so I am guess no leaks. Anyone got any ideas??? I would like some feedback.

John,

You might have a broken BCS or a bad wastegate actuator. Take the hose from the CBV and hook it right to the wastegate. You should have no boost ever. If you do, the wastegate controller is bad.

Make sure your BCS is connected right. I THINK: CBV to bottom, intake hose return middle, wastegate actuator top.

Explain those BCS connections again? How do I hook the cbv hose to the wastegate, is there a nipple on the wastegate?

It is hard when I have to put it down to hold speed going up the hills into the mountains. I can be boosting 15-20psi just holding speed, it's rediculous. The car is very sluggish unless I am in the right gear. Didn't use to be like that.

Sluggish part sounds like a misfire at higher boost.

if the vacuum line is disconected from wastegate your car will boost whatever it wants too, mine poped off and was boosting upwards of 22 psi. luckily i found the cause. re attached and back to 15. dunno if its the same as yours but mine was the dotted red line

I am pretty sure I replaced that one but I'll double check.

I don't think I am getting misfires. Engine is purring like a kitten even at 20psi.

Any other thoughts?

You didn't mention any codes...hard to believe you're not getting any with the issues you're having...such as for the altitude sensor.

Well I have had a check engine light on for some time due to the bad Cat. I guess that is a good point. I will go get the codes checked.

Nobody knows of anything else? I find this hard to believe. Turbos are turbos and I know people here know more about it than I do. At sea level i was getting upwards of 30inHg doing 75mph on the highway. At 6000 feet I am getting 20-22 or so at that speed. Boost doesn't go past 17 at sea level but is still fluttery. At 6000 feet I can get over 20psi and fluttery boost and even less power than down at sea level in hotter weather. Any ideas guys? Does it sound like a wastegate problem or a new turbo solution?
