Stage 0, I Know Which Parts...

Recommended Posts

just about every post on stage zero says which parts should be replaced, and some even give info on what sites you might find them, however nobody ever says which brands to look at, what worked well for them... yada yada.

i'm currently looking at O2 sensors and there are quite a few brands (bosch, sng...). there are also some universal ones that come with different amounts of wires (2-wire, 3-wire, and 4-wire: i'd imagine i'd get the 4-wire as there are 4 wires that go to my O2 sensors, but which are which?)

i have the same problem with fuel pumps, i see a hella pump for $126 and a bosch for $278. what the heck is the difference?

what have people tried? thoughts?

i can't ever tell if you're being sarcastic or not.

Hehe, in this case, no. Walbro pump can be fitted into the stock plastic fuel pump housing pretty easily and they're dirt cheap too.

Bosch Copper FR7DC plugs .025" gap, a bit over a buck each most places

MSD plug wires and coil lead with hotter coil, oem Bougicord or Magnecor are fine for stock coil

oem cap and rotor

K&N air filter or oem if you like paper and not oil (EurosportTuning intake if you want looks and sound)

oem fuel filter

MANN oil filters

Walbro fuel pump, less than $100 (search and read up)

oem fuel pump relay

oem 87°C thermostat (aftermarket is fine)

Samco turbo hoses (or RIP kit if you must)

Bosch 02 sensors

good quality vacuum lines (Hosetechniques.com or Stylin)

oem radiator hoses (silicone not necessary at all)

thats all I can think of at the moment for stage-zero

i started the bosch fr7dc trend....

bosch plug wires are WAY better then bougicord.

bosch (oem) cap and rotor

k/n's are fine filters, some come overoiled, mann airfilters are cheap tho, so it doesn't really matter

mann or bosch oil filters

walbro fuel pumps are cheaper, and flow more. if you want quiet, go bosch

oem 87 thermo is good, 90 is for NA's.. you don't want that.

upgraded silicone turbo hoses are a must, go either samco or stylin motors, both are damn near the same

i ONLY use bosch o2 sensors,

vac lines, silicone

radiator hoses, rubber is fine, silicone is more for show (colors, weeeeeeeeee!)

OEM everything, and then StylinMotors vacuum and boost hoses.
