Good morning...

Does anyone happen to have the part number of the *new* headlight switch that gets installed in the headlight switch recall in the '99 70-series? I believe it would be on a white label on the top of the switch.

Curious, because a month or so after taking my '99 V70R in for service -- including the headlight switch replacement -- my headlights went out. I popped the switch out, and found that the plastic tabs on the underside of the switch had broken... which was the exact same problem my '99 C70 headlight switch had before I took it in for the recall.

The part number on my current switch is as follows. This is printed on three lines of black text on a small white label on the top of the switch:

9472474
98 W51E
1622-2694

Thanks in advance.

...so it looks like that part number above may actually be the new one. The dealership confirms that the car was already in for the headlight switch recall, but at a different dealership. (This is plausible; I bought the car in late 2003 and moved in 2005.)

In any case, they're replacing the replacement free of charge, so I'm gruntled (opposite of disgruntled?).

I may still pull the switch when I get the car back and see if the new one has the same part #.
