Hi:

I recently bought a used 2000 S70. Ever since I got it about 3 months ago-- the breaks have never worked as well as a new car. FOr instance. in a new car all I really have to do is tap the breaks--and when i slam the breaks the car comes to a quick halt.

I just put new pads and rotors on the breaks but even with that the car doesnt have that new brake feel. The breaks are somewhat better but still doesnt have the stopping power of the rental car I am driving now. Any ideas on how this can be fixed?

Thanks

First question: Are you using Volvo pads? If not, they probably will not bite as well as the factory Volvo pads do. If you used factory pads, does it just seem like there isn't a whole lot of brake assist from the vacuum booster? Do you get any vacuum leak noise as you press the brake pedal down?
