S70 Awd Idle Hunt - 600-800 Rpm
#1

The car has a bit of an idle hunt from around 600-800 RPM. This happens all the time. If its in park, drive, AC on or off, etc.
I'm hoping to drive it over night tonight and get under the hood. Any ideas what to look for?
by the way, the other items is needs is: Strut mount bushing, heater core, antenna mast, and maybe a wheel bearing.

107k. I had a hunch it could be, but no check engine lights.
Looks like I don't get the car all night, but for about 2 hours (in about 4 hours).
I'll check anything suggested, I just need suggestions.

open up the hood, and look at the throttle body (it's more or less under the intake manifold) if the sticker is white, it has never been replaced, if it's yellow, it has been replaced.

How'd you get it replaced with no CEL? (or did you have one?)

ETS light. Hmm... didn't know there was one, but it's my first 99+.
Should I expect it to light up before the car starts (like everything else)? If not I would assume bulb failure (or removal... seen it done).
If there was no light, but it had the "white" sticker, could codes possibly be stored? I know an indi with Vadis that would check stored codes for $25.

however, the light may or may not come on, it's dependant on how bad the ETS is... we had a car on the lot, that exibited all the classic signs, but the light didn't come on until about a week later.

Also, the air intake for the ECU was cracked, and I noticed some other wire looms were cracked too. I'm thinking heat and age, but correct me if wrong.
Current list of things I found it needs:
1) Heater Core (or leaking hose on engine)
2) Wheel Hub (at least 1 wheel) (how do you test to be sure?)
3) Strut mount bushings
4) E-Brake pads (or at least they sure won't bring the car to a stop at 20mph)
5) Antenna Mast
6) Air filters

The code ended up being P0455 which I guess has to do with the evap. Before I knew what it meant, we agreed that if it had to do with the ETM, then obviously it would be covered by the dealer. And if it was something else, he would fix it.
Just waiting on him to call me back today after taking it to get the codes read at a shop.

That is correct. I did have it done before the recall and it cost close to $1,000 to have it replaced, but we got refunded for it. My ETS light came on and went off and then a few days later came on and stayed on and then that is when I took it to the dealer.
It fixed my idle problem. Also I believe it was a few months ago I had the new software installed as well, that is when it wiped out my ST USA ecu upgrade and I had to have that put back in by ST USA.

I would agree that I hope the car has alot of redeeming qualities and a great price, because even without the ETM,there seems like a lot of things that need fixing.Good luck.

Update: had the codes pulled at a shop and the p0455 came up (big suprise), but also an ETM code was stored. Looks like I might be getting it replaced anyway which hopefully will fix the idle.
Car has a good price and is available in my area (hard to find). I also am more pickey and know more about the car than most buyers would, so I pick up on the things. Everything is stuff I have done before or can so, so the repairs don't bother me. I've already gotten more off the asking price that the repairs will cost.
