my dads s60 2.4t broke down today it kept stalling at stop lights and he had to keep restarting it what could be the porblem

its a 2001 with 122,000 miles on it. He had to keep reving it at the stop lights to keep the engine going. then we he got to a gas station he shut it off and got some oil put it in and wouldnt start back up again

2001 = ETS.. see your nearest dealer. if this IS the problem, nothing more can be done. Could be MAF, could be a IC hose popped off.

But if it has already had the recall done it sounds like you blew off you intake hose.

So wait you are telling me Recall 155 isn't a recall? Actually Volvo calls them service campaigns and R155 includes the extended warranty.

Either that or you blew off the hose that goes to the ETM. Take it to the dealer, the ETM is covered by a recall/extened warranty and if it is the hose it only takes a few seconds to put back on.

by Recall, i mean that volvo isn't making everyone come in and get them replaced, they'll replace them if it's broke..

my dad brought it to the dealer and they said its the mass air flow sensor are they just BSing him

k, first of all, the MAF has nothing to do with emissions. it measures how much air the engine is recieving. and if it goes bad, the car will have the same symptoms that your fathers car has.
