How Much Boost Can The 2.4 Lpt Engine Take?

Realistically, how much could you safetly boost into a s70 glt engine which is the 2.4 lpt? And roughly how much hp are those blocks good for? Im new, srry if this is a dumb question...

not a bad question, i think roughly 10 psi for your trubo. which is same as mine dont go over that without geting ecu remaped for higher fuel delivery and bigger turbo. and as for max hp i think 300 without modifying the internals. if you want to go more then you need new pistons rots, etc but the block is good, in fact its better then T5 models. this is the engine 400+ hp cars use.

Realistically,

13G - 19 psi

15G - 18 psi

20G - 13 psi

GT35R - 10 psi

and the blocks are good for 550, but the rods and pistons aren't good for it

all jokes aside,

what do you want to do with your car? hp wise . . .

so pretty much LPT's are limited to 10psi with a mbc?...any more boost than that will require the ecu to be remaped? what if i use larger injectors with the stock ecu?

im pretty much wondering the same things that Ross_Da_Boss wants to know...im not really looking for killer hp or anything...i just dont want to get beat by ricers in there honda accords and such...and thats besides the fact my glt is my daily driver...i want to get more power....but at the same time keep it reliable

so lets say i go to 10psi....what would the benefits of swapping a 15g/16t onto it be? or should i just stick with the 13g

I dynoed my 2.4LPT right after RICA stage 1 tune.

With 1 bar boost it was 217 whp on 4 wheel dyno.

Waiting for the new 19T to arrive, and we'll see what the 2.4LPT can handle. :)

lol, yea... the problem was it was rediculously humid out and like 100* F.

It is going to come back pretty Darn hard core though.

how much is one bar in psi?

and how does a drivetrain soak up so much power...i thought lpt's were 190 crank....so what are they actually making at the wheels stock?

1bar is~14.7psi

probably 160whp

volvo engines are pretty resilient (to a certain point)
