Hello All,
Here is a brand new one!!
My friends car is S60 T5 year 2001 with 78K miles on it. It has a very wired problem, It runs very soomth but it dose not accelarate at all as if there is no gas padel. It stays on ideal rpm and when i shift to d position it keeps going on ideal rpm.I do not know if it is related to the ETM ot not but i suspect that the problem is somewhere between the accelaration padel and the ETM but i do not have any computer errors.
any suggestions plz???

Sounds like his transmission is out. Sounds like the same exact problem I went through. In the info gauge, does it say "Urgent Transmission Service Required" ??????

I originally thought it might be limp mode. But that should at least accelerate a little bit, just not very hard.
for your friend.

Simular thing happens it the MAF sensor is disconnected and you try to run the car -
This will lodge a CEL however.

Could be the thingy that tells the tranny to move to drive. <---- me being technical.

it shifts to D,R... all the gears but it dose not accelarate,I was thinking it might be ETM problem, what do u guys think?
Are you sure it is shifting because you said the RPMs don't change at all. The RPMs will move a little when shifting from out of park. Your vacuum will change too if you have a gauge to read that.

Does it move? If it moves but doesn't accelerate well, then it could be a clogged cat. If it's just winding up the revs with no engaging of the transmission then above is the best bet.
Sorry to all the people who are still trying to get their money back.
