periodically, my car (2000 s70 glt se, 78k miles) won't start. there is no starter action and nothing happens under the hood. the battery is fine and turns on when the keys are in, but the engine won't start. any ideas of something i could do?

??? If the ant. ring is a problem the car should crank and not start. The immobilizer disables the fuel pump circuit not the starter. The problem could be as simple as a starter?? You also could have a bad batt. cable to the starter or small cable bundle from the batt. to the under hood fuse box. Another possibility could be the ignition switch….

got in it this morning and it started on the first try. touchy as hell. when it doesn't start it doesn't crank, but there have been a history of battery problems with this car and that could be it. thanks for the replies

you said it wasn't battery problem
if the battery is dead, nothing would happen
