The fan works with the air on but doesn't come on when the car is turned off.
It should kick on since the car is radiating alot of heat and my ect is new.
Is there a way to test the operation of the fan module?
Or do I just replace the whole auxillary fan and module. ($273)

There might be a recall for the cooling fans on your car. Call a dealer and have them run the VIN.

There is an outstanding recall on cooling fans on my '01 S60, I'm going to get it done today because I've overheated several times recently in slow traffic. I think you can also check the Volvo USA website and enter your VIN to check for any outstanding recalls.
