the instructions are pretty good....i'll be doing it if the dealer woun't.

It's a service bulletin, so yeah, the dealer should have this info. Don't see it as a recall, so expect the dealer to charge you out the A$$. If you have the time and tools do it yourself and save the bucks.

Man they don't make it easy huh. Anyone know where to purchase the special Volvo tools?

I'd say you can improvise pretty well. Did my '98 S70 last year...never used any special Volvo tools and it was much more involved than these P2 cars. Nice thing is if you can blow air through the hose and it come out where you can hear it with the oil fill cap off then you don't have to procede further. Makes me wonder though if the alternator, etc. really has to come out. Sure, it's easier to get to with those things out of the way but seems it can be done without disconnecting this and the power steering pump, but maybe monkey hands can't get in there otherwise. Still, a good thing to do maitenance to...much cheaper than replacing a rear main seal down the line.
