i got it...take the ETM off and soak it in the sink, then put it back on...that would work great!

I was afraid it wouldn't be easy. Guess I'll just try the software for now, and see if I get more desparate later. grr...

I've only seen the software not work a couple of times, it's covered up to 200k anyways.

so, did his ETM problem come back after upsolute redid it?
i'm inclined just to clean the ETM or replace it. a SW patch for a HW problem is usually just ignoring errors (in some industries)

I am pretty sure that IPD reprograms the ECM whereas ETM software is stored in the ETM itself. They are 2 completely different modules with different software. It shouldn't make a difference but don't quote me, I don't want to be responsible if something gets fucked up.

I know how to replace a heater core on a 98 V70. I suck at fog lights and gauges though
