The top on my wifes 99 C70 is stuck. She tried to put the top up yesterday and it threw the circut breaker. The manual says it will reset after 20 seconds but thats not working. I would manually raise it but I cant gen into the trunk cause the cover for the top is stuck straight up. Anybody know any tricks that I could try. Any input would be great. It has worked perfect up until now. The orange light on the switch does not even come on. Im stumped.

Are you saying the two tiny tools they give you to manually raise it are in your trunk? Put them in the glove box.
Mine has never failed me so I have no suggestions. Make sure nothing is in the mechanism that is jamming it. See if the microswitch that needs to be triggered at the point your top has a jammed is loose or broken. Or perhaps one elsewhere in the sequence has opened when it should not.

Ive got the two tools in the glove box but i cant open the trunk cause the cover that covers the top when its down is stuck straight up. So if I try to open the trunk to use the tools it binds on the trunklid.

your local dealer has a tool that can manually raise it. what might have gone wrong might be one of the top potentiometers. sometimes they can just put them back into their parameters but sometimes you need to replace them

Get it to the Dealer NOW!!!! The rear latch microswitches might have broken, also the roof is DEFINITELY out of calibration. Don't touch the roof anymore until it has been checked out. So many microswitches and resistance values could be out of wack.
