I have been driving my '01 2.4T for over 2 years now, put 27k miles on the clock, all seems to be working fine, then suddenly, I get a message "NO OIL PRESSURE STOP ENGINE NOW" with the Oil light, no CEL so I stop, lift the bonnet, nothing, start again, absolutely fine, dont see the message for a while, then it flicks on again, now it keeps coming on and off for a few seconds, also once happened at startup.

Took it down to the dealership, before a 1,000 mile trip to drop my sister off at University, they say its fine, its justs some oil seals failing. Took it on the 1,000 mile trip, no problems, when i turn the engine off after leaving it ide for 5 minutes, theres a sharp clicking/buzzing sound for about 10 seconds, its coming from a module under the bonnet with 3 lines connected to it, the lines seem to be leading back to the turbo, and one to the manifold. Does anyone know if this is abnormal, or if its going to cause any damage. I took it down to the dealership to have the oil seals replaced and asked them to check it over, they said there was nothing wrong with it, but im not conviced. Any help is appreciated

Ruan

if it's a clicking sound and you have no oil pressure, try resealing the oil pan. sometimes the seals on the inside go bad

that thing w/ the 3 lines coming out is the PCV system. I don't think that is a good thing for that to be making noise. It is supposed to be a vacuum system. So there shouln't be much if anything in there.

Hmm, this is what i thought, as the Oil seals have now been replaced, I dont think thats a problem, but the clicking has got me worried.

On your motor the clicking noise could be the ETM. The PCV would never make such a noise even if it were bad. The way you are describing things it sounds like the turbo control valve could be making the noise. Has the car been hesitating on heavy acceleration?

this happened to us on an 02 S80.... we ended up replacing all the rod bearings..

As in Hesitation, you mean lag, its got AWFUL lag im pretty sure its the TCV, thats what i thought it was originally, its a chattering sound and its so bad, it shakes the solenoid off its mounts nad it just hangs about in the engine bay. This is getting worse and worse, Replacing the Rod Bearings is not gonna be nice to the bank!

The turbo lag is actually so bad, its almost as if when you mash your foot on it, the throttle valve takes a while to open, then it goes, not usual Turbo lag, where the engine pushes more, then it gradually winds up to giving full power, now its mash the throttle, nothing, then it all comes in one massive lump.

Any more ideas?

the Oil message light has nothing to do with any turbo problems.

have you replaced the TCV/BCS?
