Oh god that santa cruz is saweet!

And yeah, you need a road but fixed is soooo much fun. I'm running 44x16 to start because the hills here are huge. I haven't had to walk any so there's no reason why a fixed wouldn't work in santa cruz.

If you can. find a Litespeed: titanium is by far the best material I have ridden. I've done carbon, steel, aluminum and titanium and I love ti.

What you guys don't know is that Larry is about 9' tall. Look at how high he has to adjust his seats.

My bike protests this thread!

OK, actually I was taking this to DC for a long-term loan, there was a demonstration, so Towery and I played along.
That's one of my single-speeds in the background. Aluminum frame, Hyd. discs and tubeless Michelins.

The second SS I built

The 3rd

The boy at age 15-ish, with 2 of his that I built. He is now 20. My FSR is one year older, but nicer. He also has an Allez Elite and a P3 which is sold.

Current road ride. 1988 Columbus CrMo Atala, Campy Record C.

Favorite hardtail I owned, sold it to a professor. CrMo, of course.

Parts of my current fave. Reynolds CrMo

I also have a few others, the wife rides a Raleigh Mojave 8.0

He calls it a 10 speed, but it has a triple on the front. It must have a 3.33 cluster on the back.

Are those BB-7 calipers on the Iron Horse? They work well.

I have had Oury grips (blue bike). Very cushy. I'm partial to Salsa grips, too.

I'm going with Big Cheese grips. I've heard nothing but good things from people.

Mikep,

yes, those are BB7's...

I just installed a 6" rear rotor & bracket, as the 8" rear was overkill, and about 140 grams heavier!

We're big Oury grip fans here, been using them for 10+ years. My Kid just got some Lime Green one's for his Ibex

the ibex is nice, I always wanted to ride one, but never see them here.
When I was looking at FSRs in 2002 I rode a Sugar 2. I liked it a bit better than the FSR, but my friend (owner of the bike shop) made me the deal I couldn't refuse. Can't argue with "at cost".
