the shop says i need a rear axle assembly for my 99 S70 GLT but EST says there is no such thing any ideas.......

They may be referring to a 'Delta Link' assembly, of which there is a left and a right on your car. If it has been substantially curb-checked or you've gone off-roading once too often, I've seen this happen. I would ask your shop to quantify why you would need it, and what side. If you needed the bushings, you can get them seperately and they can be bolted on your existing Delta link.
