During a long haul from Pa to NH I encountered a problem when attempting to go over 65 mph. The engine ran rough and the check engine light came on. I had my OPD tool with me so I did a check and came up with code P0243 which is the turgocharge wastegage Solenoid Malfunction code. Kept the rpms at 2000 to make it home and had no problems getting home. When I got home I pulled the wastegate solenoid out and checked the vacuum lines and electical connections for leaks or bad connections. All looked ok. Today it is running fine and no codes showing. Does the wastegate Solenoid sometimes stick and can it be cleaned or should it be replaced?
I searched your message board but found no previous problems. Any advice?
