Posted 25 November 2006 - 01:04 AM

My setup started out with a 19T, BSR downpipe. BSR exhaust and Upsolute tune from Bill@adrenaline racing. This lasted just over a month before a few rods bent from detonation. I had a local machine shop tear the motor down and install VMS rods and pistons (I was one of Terry's first customers) I sent the head out to get ported/polished, 3 angle valve job, etc..

I ran the built motor with the same 19T, exhaust and tune I had before but never heard the sound of detonation. I beat the shit outta this thing for almost 3 years but I wanted more.

The new setup:

B5234T3
Eagle rods
Ross pistons
Balanced rotating assembly
Arp headstuds
Ported/polished head
3 angle valve job
NA cams
850 T5-R flywheel
Spec stage 3+ clutch
Quaife LSD
S60R exhaust manifold
GT35R (.63/.70 A/R)
Precision 600hp intercooler
NA throttlebody
2.5" intercooler piping
3" turbo back exhaust
Siemens 630cc injectors (saturated)
Walbro 255lph
Tial 40mm wastegate
Tial 50mm blow off valve
Nira i3+ EMS

The car is off the road for the winter turbo upgrade http://volvospeed.co...IR#/biggrin.gif

19T was the first to come off, as was the stock IC and the BSR exhaust.

19T and GT35R:

Precision intercooler mocked up:

DSC03134.jpg

DSC03122.jpg

S60R manifold and new turbo mocked up. The turbo will end up sitting higher as I only had 8mm studs to mount it and the hole in the turbine flange and a fair size larger.

DSC03288.jpg

DSC03268.jpg

It's close to the mount, but like i said, it will sit a bit higher after final install.

DSC03280.jpg

I had originally planned on having a tubular exhuast manifold made, but ended up using the S60R manifold to save myself some headaches. I still wanted to run the external wastegate so I switched over to a 5 bolt turbine.

4 bolt:

DSC00583.jpg

5 bolt:

DSC03199.jpg

Installed the Innovate WB02 and XD16 gauge:

DSC03320.jpg

Siemens 630cc injectors:

DSC03209.jpg

New coolant lines and fittings:

DSC03412.jpg

DSC03417.jpg

DSC03414.jpg

DSC03421.jpg

GT install kit. I'm hoping I will luck out and be able to use the stock return line, but we'll see.

DSC03242.jpg

Oil feed setup:

DSC03366.jpg

Next step is to run the IC piping and drop in the NA cams. The 3" exhaust/external wastegate setup is being fabbed locally after I get all this other stuff done.

Tuning.. yes I know someone's going to ask... is still up in the air. Nira is a possibility if the budget permits.

I currently have a dualmass flywheel and spec stage III clutch installed. I have purchased a T5R singlemass flywheel but am still on the hunt for a good clutch. I will stick with the dualmass for a while and just keep the boost down until I can find a clutch and get my hands on a LSD. That way, it can all be done at once and then I can crank the boost up.

Updating this with some new pics since the last half of my thread got lost. :(

The collar/clamps look alright if done correctly. It's either just a hose clamp, or i put the collar on.. i'm going to put the collar on.

winter ride is a Honda crx
