excl.gif If your 99 and up V70 is self destructing Clean the PCV tubes. They eliminated servicablity in 99. To test remove oil dip stick WHILE RUNNING. If there is pressure or smoke spewing out of the tube, your PCV system is clogged. Start by removing the fresh air intake tube and blow out the Temp sensor which is mounted to it, also seal around the sensor mount with RTV. Then remove the PS Pump and alt. There is a small banjo fitting with three tubes going to it mounted under the corner of the intake. Do not remove the clamps (coolant). Push out the rubber tube and blow it out and clean with stiff wire. Also clean out the banjo fitting inside and though the barb with a small drill. In addition clean out the turbo boost valve located on the air cleaner and the cp valve located on the radiator support a tube goes to the fresh air intake at the turbo. These usually throw code p0101. They clog due to oil getting sucked/forced into them because of the bad PCV, even though the solinoid may click doesn't mean its passing air! A clogged PCV will blow out oil seals, ruin MAF sensors, and ruin your cat with time. It's probably the root cause of all the complaints on these cars!
