So I'm driving home on Sunday afternoon, down a dual carriageway with an 80km/h speed limit. I normally do just under 100 on this road, it's long and straight, with 4 or five traffic lights down the stretch. Got the whole family in the car so really not looking for a race or anything like that.
At the first light, a yellow CitiGolf (Golf 1 sold as new here in SA) stops next to me. I didn't really notice him.
I pulled away as I normally do - quite quickly but not flat out, not revving too hard or anything... I let off at 90-100 as I normally do... a few seconds later this golf comes blasting past me, and then screeches to a halt at the next light. I didn't take the bait... Just drove as normal when the light went green (still pull off faster than his piece of turd).. and he does the flyby again.
We stop at the next light, and the 14 year old kid says to me "PLEASE drop this guy - he's really trying to race you" and the rest of the family concurred.
Light goes green, I chirp the pirelli p-zeros driven through the electronic LSD gearbox. Change at the power peak, chirp the tyres into 2nd again. By 3rd, at 120km/h, the guy is a distant speck in the rear view mirror... Like it was ever going to be a race... Waste of diesel!
Anyway, I backed off, slowed back down to my normal speed, and observe the light in front changing. I had to brake fairly hard to stop in time, but well within the limits of the car (the abs did NOT kick in). I look in the mirror as I brake and I see this monkeytard barrelling down the road towards me with white smoke coming out of his front tyres. I jink over into the next lane and he slides right past me, through the red light, and then drives off.
Racing on public roads is not clever.
Taking on ANYTHING in a citi golf is stupid.
Racing on public roads FAR exceeding your car's capabilities is just poking retarded.
That is all.

The consensus in the car was "What a moron"... Not often the entire family agrees on something wink.gif

SHE has her moments wink.gif
And hell no, she is NOT driving the S40.
Giving an inexperienced kid that car is a death sentence. It's an animal.

Another one for the S40.

You have LSD ? unsure.gif
I wanted an EVO but ended up with EVO chassis only

The S40 would have killed the golf even worse.
I was driving my Seat Cupra. It's got some fancy ELSD thing where when a wheel starts spinning it gently brakes it, without cutting engine power...
