Gatebil repeats last years success: With room for 3 passengers, giving you the ride of your life, more than 800 bhp, one of Europe’s most extreme streetcars!
What is Gatebil?
Gatebil AS organizes Scandinavia’s largest car festivals, with a main goal of giving the streetcar environment in Norway a place to unleash their interest of fast cars and good company! The company has 3 – 4 festivals a year, including the publication of DVD movies, www.gatebil.no and a magazine through Se & Hør publishing. We continue to plan ahead with more events, as well as starting up in Sweden to meet the different environments in their own surroundings. The events are run as a festival with a lot of action, concerts, competitions, the Norwegian championship in “Breisladd” and Gatebil of the year.
In 2006 Gatebil built a car which became the most popular project this decade! Leaving all common sense behind we built a Gatebil taxi!
What: With the starting point of a brand new BMW 3-series (!) we made a 4 seated race taxi with bucket seats, crash cage, audiovisual equipment, and an engine with over 650 bhp!
Why: The Gatebil taxi would give selected spectators, sponsors and our cooperating partners a chance to take part in this unique experience. See the film of the car here:

Gatebil taxi 2007
We wish to repeat the success in 2007, but it definitely won’t be less extreme! This year’s taxi will be a Volvo XC90 which will be built together with Volvo and Mantorp Park. The layout is the same as last year’s taxi, but with a more powerful engine, and also more focus on the audio visual, and the exposure around the car as well as the concept itself!
Gatebil taxi has become a trademark, which many people associate with. The main thought behind the idea is to entertain the audience. Both the passengers in the car and our audience!

Media 2007
The car is being built by one of Norway’s leading car engineers Anders Ringstad and also students at Strømmen High school’s mechanic class. It will be a highly profiled project on our websites, and will also be filmed so that it will be on the Gatebil Movie. People will here be able to follow the project step by step. Gatebil Magazine will also publish several articles on the car.
CHECK OUT www.gatebil.com from the 1st of March to see updates on this extreme project! Picture updates will also come on this thread!
