Man that sucks, hate to hear that happen but I know how it goes.

Doesn't your dad live in Irving, Tx area if I remember right?

I work at the dealer there so if you need anything while you're there let me know.

How much work was the S70R front bumper? I'm going to do an S70 AWD rear bumper on my car, wasn't sure if the front would fit or not.

After seeing the pictures... That's unique, but not nice IMO

The work done is awesome IMO. The color choice is a bit less.. I'm not a fan of red, like the old color better. But hey.. ;)

I'm impressed! B)

It just looks really cheap to me :( The V70R front bumper needs to have the entire front end (fenders/hood/headlights) to work, and the lack of trim handles looks bad because it is still on the bumpers. I'm also a bit confused as to why the center section on the trunk is the only piece that wasn't body color matched.

But, to each their own. I don't like it and wouldn't do it personally, but obviously others like it so more power to them

I think this is mainly because of the color choice..

The work itself, the details etc. are very well done IMO. I can appreciate the effort put in to it very much.

Datails are always subject to debate simply because you can't argue taste.

The one detail I personally do not like is the rear upper edge of the rear arch going over into the bumper. The angle it makes doesn't fit the total picture IMO. Also makes the rear wheel appear to much to the front. Front fender/arch details are simply awesome.

The sad part about project Pras is that we won't be able to see the work with our own eyes. Sometimes pics don't do a car justice in order to appreciate the work that has gone into it. I've seen this before on other projects.

Based on his write up, I expected worse, but it came out pretty decent IMO, I give him a  for creativity.

I must agree with Johann, the previous color looked amazing on his car.

This coming from a guy driving a yellow volvo....go figure ;)

Anyway, I was actually planning on a custom color for the car, and the engine bay had already been painted 601. When it came down to me leaving, custom was out of the option in case something happens while I am gone, so we went with 601 all the way. I personally love red, so it was suiting. I definitely liked my old color ALOT, but I wanted to do the custom candy, but in the end, it didn't work out.

And what trim are you talking about on the bumpers? All of it is smooth now....you can't tell there were separate pieces there....hence why the dour mouldings and handles are gone. I kept the tailgate handled for safety and access reasons. The handle part was supposed to be painted body color, but it was overlooked, and I had no time to keep it there to finish....that can be done anytime easily. However, the roof rails, side mirror trim, and Tritons are still grey. I may go with a 2 tone in the future if I ever get around to it....I'll redo the door jambs and interior paint too since it didn't come out to my liking quality-wise.

I also think that a V70 front end on an 850 would look way cheezy because of the curves and more "round" appearance. Once I get the spacers on the back, and lower the front down a bit more, I think it'll set it off pretty well.

I did the car how I wanted to do it, and that's what counts. There are a few things I would change (which I won't mention), but overall, despite the time constraints and stress I went through for this, it came out bitchin.

I've only seen 1 or 2 other people on this side of the pond do anything even close to the work put into my car.

Well, I think it looks pretty good, I'm not sure how I feel about the fenders but over all it is a good looking car.

Exactly, and that's what counts! I'm surprised you didn't have them do the rotor hats at the same time ;)

Post more pics if you can Pras, I know the interior hasn't changed, but it'd be nice to see it again.

As long as you're happy with it, then that's all that matters. I think overall it turned out great, there are things I would change, but that's because I'm not you and I have different taste! Much better taste too you dirty whore. Hats off to you for the effort, you're the first person in the US to do this amount of work to a 800 series WAGON.

Holy crap Pras. I've been away from civilization for a while. I just read this whole thing. Wow. I have been in your shoes with a project, major-ass deadlines, debt and things not going to plan. I have to applaud your attitude throughout. I would have probably killed people. In my cases, I regreted starting projects knowing going-in that I shouldn't be pushing my luck, but like you, I want to believe in people. In the end, I get so stressed that I end up not being able to enjoy the results of my labor the way I had thought and it just soured my whole experience. FWIW, the car looks great. I think the real thing here is your strength of character.
