ruecatinat 120 Report post Posted February 29, 2016 Just now, RBoy8 said: I absolutely love mine. It's also my go-to. Tons of fun and it's not very expensive either. The portrait of my buddy with the glasses posted above was taken with it. A few other samples: That looks nice and sharp. I still keep my 60 2.8 on the lens 80% of the time (except for when using my 12-24) but I can't help thinking it would be easier to have something shorter in focal length for all my light tent stuff. For what the lens goes for it seems I can't go wrong. Those are nice shots - looks like you might find a circular polarizer handy for those car shots
RBoy8 2,525 Report post Posted February 29, 2016 Thanks! It's also small and light, making it easy to carry around. Pocket-sized! Yeah, I think so far I've only used the polarizer for car shots haha. Haven't really used it elsewhere.
RBoy8 2,525 Report post Posted March 16, 2016 For those that don't know, I went and grabbed Tamron's latest version of the 24-70 and 70-200. Haven't had the chance to really use them but here are a few shots from the 70-200. RBoy8 2,525 Report post Posted November 7, 2016 Because nothing has been posted here in a while... I've also started playing with manual flash guns: For the second flash gun picture, I think I should've had another unit on the other side of my buddy to get rid of that shadow on his face. Hmmm...
MattyXXL 3,430 Report post Posted November 7, 2016 What flash are you using? Are you able to manually configure it? If you want to do some cool stuff with flash check this book out One Flash!: Great Photography with Just One Light https://www.amazon.com/dp/1937538710/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_C0qiyb3XD2M2Y
RBoy8 2,525 Report post Posted November 8, 2016 I picked up two Neewer NW561 flashes with triggers from Amazon. Totally manual but they settings I can play with. They're fun to use!... but a little tricky lol. I'll give that book a looksee, Mat!

I think I'd buy the Canon S120 if I was going to buy a new pocket camera, or a S100 if I wanted a cheap one.
