Thanks you guys! I saw these beautiful clouds over SF before the sunset and wanted to make my way over the bridge but got caught up running errands.
Boy, was it ever cold out there. Not to mention a non-carbon fiber tripod is very cold to the touch, haha.

Was going for this kind of effect from Ansel Adams although the trees aren't laid out in the same pattern and proximity so it didn't turn out nearly as well, among other reasons. I tried a few different crops one with the front tree on a rule of thirds line but did not like it so I stuck with it in the middle. I don't like going by rules, just what looks right to me. Can't and shouldn't use the rule of thirds for everything, not saying you are stating that but it's what people always recommend when they mention composition. I agree, though, it isn't very dynamic.

Very nice, birch trees are awesome! We used to have tons of them in the Motherland. I actually have one growing in my backyard, to bring a little bit of Russia home, haha.
