Hi All,

Recently I have been working on starting my own brand of Mobile Video Products. Having been a installer all these years, i feel there is a gap in the mobile video market. First we have the brand names, while offering good video performance and resolution, are VERY expensive. Then we have the low low brand names, such as legacy, soundstorm with their very cheap prices, but very poor brand image and performance. then, there are those midline stuff like audiovox, magadyne, offering decent quality but also pretty high prices.

So...my line of stuff will offer video quality on par with the mid line quality stuff, while at a FAR lower price.

Anyway, I am probably going to seek distributors as well as opening an online store of some type. So..looking for some feedback and if anyone here is interested.

cant disclose the full catalog yet, but here are two examples of what we can offer, the prices listed would be for VS members or online direct:

7" motorized flip out lcd $499

8" motorized flip down lcd ceiling mount: $399

and you can chose from a wide variety of colors to fit your needs smile.gif

Interesting idea... Getting advertising will be the toughest/most-expensive part I'd guess.

Sounds like a cool idea. Best of luck. Perhaps if you can get advertising here and by people here, you should do pretty well with sales. I was going to say you could try eBay, but there are so many cheap-jerk components on there already. You'll just have to find some way to make your brand known at all, and that will take time.

Sounds like a great idea. Would defiently be interested in that. B/c cant afford the really nice stuff and I have tried some of the lower end stuff and while the quality wasnt the best, for the price I couldnt complain. But if i could get some better quality stuff without wiping myself out I would be totally interested. Prob have some friends that would be down also.

I would probably be interested, even though I may be able to find something else, I trust you more then a random store/no name brand.

BTW, what ever happened to getting the new site?

That sounds awesome Bing! When you have some samples and the like, you def. have to post more about them. I'm def. interested. Any chance of you doing a double-din LCD? I'm looking to do a carputer at some point, so...

navi WONT be an option, at least not now, i am mainly aiming for hte mid priced, mid quality video market, video meaning dvd playback and screens. think something like audiovox quality screens but at 80percent of hte cost even less...audiovob by the way, makes a decent screen.

anyway, we DO plan to have a doubledin 7" with a dvd built in, motorized, similar to the eclipse 2000 dollar unit that is out now, except with out navi. the double din we will use a monitor outsourced from sharp, whcih of course as you know, makes the aquos line of home monitors that feature decent video quality at a good price. currently, it look slike the aforementioned doublein with dvd and motorized face plate will be in the neighborhood of 1000 retail, $700 VS price wink.gif

one thing I DO NOT want to mislead you is that i am not intending on competing with alpine, pioneer, or other top name video products, meaning the video quality wont be as good, but hey, when you are watching a 7 or 6.5" screen, many people would rather save the extra 1000 dolalrs wink.gif

hehe just a small update

recieved the first batch of our test samples today and ran them....a few things really stand out...

video quality is outstanding! we had it side byside with some cheaper pyle, power acoustik and sound storm units, as well as flip outs from sony, and pioneer, and i can really say, the video quality is on par with the best from pioneer, off axis viewing superior to the sony, and the low quality units dont even come close to comparing:)

other things to note, the motorization gear uses METAL gears, instead of cheap plastic ones that are prone to breaking smile.gif

anything, things are looking good, soon perhaps I will post some kind of catalogue for you VSers to peruse and pick out...

but basically, things will come down to the following sub categories:

indash flip out tv single din, screen only, motorized (with or without tv tunner)

double din motorized flip down screen with dvd player built in and pre amp section

flip down ceiling mount, various sizes, some featuring full motorization

the normal array of generic screens

full replacement visor with screens built in, custom made to fit most modern cars

as for pricing, think prices comparable to the low end stuff on sale here, but you get a FAR superior product hehe

Can't wait for the catalog. Any chance you know how big you are going to go with the flip down ceiling mount screens?
