For a few months i've been thinking about putting a a switch that allows me to turn my amp on and off seperate from the HU. Why you ask, well so i can listen to the radio while parked without having the car turned on. If i let my radio play without the car on, my battery is dead in about 10 mins. All i did was wire a SPST switch in-line with my amp turn-on wire between the HU and the amp. It turned out better than i even expected and it looks really good. now for pics...
here's what the back of the switch looks like:

It only took about 45 mins to wire this up and drill a hole in the dash plate. Also i messed up and drilled too small of a hole, and when i tried to push the switch through it got stuck tight. Luckily when i turned it around the switch was perfectly flush mounted so i just popped it back in

If you want to do this, a switch cost about $4 and you need 2 ring connectors and possibly splices, depending on how oyu hooked up your HU and amp. here's a few shots of the trunk too...
