Decide to go hang out with Aaron today? Is that going in the wagon?
I dropped off my 850 yesterday, when I get it back I hope for it to be "done,"
I find it funny, I post what is likely the one of the finest built white blocks in NA, and only one person notices it.
I picked a pretty circuitous route and arguably cheated slightly, but I'm going to get there

So I'm currently working on two big things at work, designing a new system, and doing a market survey for another project where I'm trying to find a solution for them. The other project is a product that is the backbone of all of our major systems and it's a POS. It used to be a solid piece of gear, but the company that owned the patents got bought out and now the new company could give two shits. So the other day my PM for the system I'm designing asked me to look into new avenues and to check out a specific company that could potentially replace said POS equipment and handed me a packet of info about their products. This product does exactly what our current product does, so it'd allow us to drop the other completely. So today, the PM for the project I'm doing the market survey for (the same project that produces said POS device) hands me the same packet from the same company and says hey, check these guys, this could be our solution (to the market survey). He's only interested in a small application but it won't work without the entire package (it's all proprietary) and he doesn't realize that he recommended to me that I recommend that he and his team get fired and we should go use this other product instead. So, I scheduled a demo with the company next week and invited him all the other important decision making people from both projects. Looking forward to Thursday.

That seriously sounds exciting to me. I would be on the edge of my seat waiting for Thursday. As I'm sure you know, switching out one proprietary solution for another probably isn't a huge step forward. I know the nature of your business probably requires some narrow-market stuff though. So this is for that thing you're working on that lets people do that stuff and your expertise in that field is where you really shine? So I'm currently working on two big things at work, designing a new system, and doing a market survey for another project where I'm trying to find a solution for them. If the new system can do what the other one can do, only do it reliably all the time, it's a step forward. That seriously sounds exciting to me. I would be on the edge of my seat waiting for Thursday. That's Aaron's motor, but I'm guessing Erik's won't be much different..
It will look the same from the outside for the most part, but not on the inside. My goals are also like 300hp less than his.
