Lew has over 20 years experience....much of it Volvo factory and Volvo dealer. Affordable ($60/hour) and unbelievably knowledgeable. All he works on is older (pre-2000) Volvos. It's a 1-man show so he may be backed up from time to time,,,but, he's worth it.

I was referred to Lew by a friend after I bought a Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon from an unscrupulous mechanic in Mr. Kisco, NY. The car performed well when I test drove it, but I wasn't half way back to Manhattan when I started to smell burning oil! It was very upsetting. Kline Volvo wanted $4,000 to repair - and it turned out that they were going to do an expensive repair on the wrong thing! My old Mercedes mechanic cleaned it up and tried to fix it, but it kept leaking oil onto the exhaust manifold. I was going to sell the car for less than half what I had into it, but had to buy a replacement first. I had Lew check out the replacement, which saved me from buying a mediocre car, then asked if he'd take a look at my problematic car. It took him a few days to get to my car, but he accurately diagnosed the problem - the mechanic who sold me the car had stripped the threads in the block that held the bolts for the head on, and he had used the wrong engine sealant. Lew fixed it, and the car was pretty much mechanically perfect after that. That was 4 years ago and I've taken the car back to Lew ever since. Lew is knowledgeable and honest, but because he runs the shop single handed, he is not fast! I'll take late and right over on time and wrong every time. Very nice and highly skilled, one of the best independent Volvo mechanics you will find anywhere.
