What Did You Do To Your Car Today.

Recommended Posts

Straight-piped it. Then auto-crossed. Then grenaded my heater core. Then removed all the carpets, etc. to get rid of the coolant they were soaking in.

I Could have sworn you already blew your heatercore once before autocrossing it... or at least coolant was involved

Well yeah close enough. That was about a year ago---I checked my coolant levels in between runs, then forgot to fully tighten my expansion tank cap and blew coolant all over my engine bay  that one only hurt my pride.

I washed it little over a month ago......

The wifes car ive done a few things to though

So far ive fixed her microswitch issue.

Blown the AC drain out twice

and realized that while the part numbers on the motors are the same, the trunk latch does not transfer from a s70 to a c70 without getting the trunk stuck.

^ then I spent 3 hours opening it without popping the trunk or breaking something else.

now im going to go try to tackle the trunk issue fully and wire up her homelink, and fix the cut wiring on the pass side.

Tim.... rewire shit when you cut it, and dont say it wasnt you because I remember you asking me about it when you did the headliner

Care to elaborate on what you're talking about specifically rather than being blatantly general and making me look like an idiot?

Something many people do :P

figured it was obvious from the homelink part or the headliner part of the story.

cutting the wiring for the sun visors.

but its ok, instead of trying to figure out how to jump the microswitches in the seats I just ziptied them

I had the pleasure of dealing with one of these:

IMG_20130427_214600_092_zps0bd74443.jpg

Rear PS shock came off leaving behind the metal sleeve. Cut a slot in the bottom of it to wedge a chisel in. Tried breaking it away by chiseling between the sleeve and the mount. Finally, just gave it about 5 minutes with the torch and then went to hell on it with a chisel and a hammer and it popped off.

And yes I used a torch right below the gas tank. Because I'm not a pussy

Ah that was it. I clearly remembered coolant spraying everywhere but from what, I couldn't remember

PRIDE! I have hurt mine a few times with the wagon as well so... I know that feel, BRO

Took the old 15g out that was leaking and burning oil and put in Greg's 16t with blue IPD spring CBV.

have not driven it but let it run for 20 to 30 mins in park. No leaks! We will see the test drive tomorrow.

About time! Hope it's working A-OK..

For me today, I refreshed my Koni Yellows struts, new spring seats/ bears, had to replace my DIY adjustable endlinks with the HD Moog versions. Now just to tackle the rear bushings...

Drove 750 miles to Davis on Friday.

Saturday I found I had broken a rear shock mount as I am cleaning the car out for autocross. I still ran it and took 2nd place.

Saturday night replaced the rear shock mount.

Today took it to the Davis show and spent hours cleaning the dead bugs off the car. 750 miles tends to kill a lot of them.

Drove 3-4 hours north to Ashland for the night.

Stopping by iPd tomorrow on the way home to swap the axle that was wrong.
