What Did You Do To Your Car Today.

How long has this been happening?

I am getting to the point to just sell it or part it out.  No one seems to be able to figure it out.

I have had the issue for a year, but it was very minor when it started.  When it first started, starting the car cold was fine, but give it a little gas when taking off, it would bog down and want to stall.  Once there was a little heat in the engine, that issue would go away.  I still had the cut out under boost at high RPM, but only noticed it when racing.  I figured it was a tune issue when I swapped exhaust housings and didn't retune for it.  It was never lean, I just figured it was too rich and my logs showed AFR at 10 or even high 9s.  I stopped racing the car in September of last year because of my job situation at the time.

I have since swapped back to the housing that the tune was for, but the high RPM cut out still occurs.  Over time the start up cold problem has just gotten worse to the point that sometimes it seems like only 2 cylinders are firing.  That goes away within 10-15 seconds, but very annoying.

I started a thread about this here,

I may do that at some point, but his system doesn't fix the real problem.

Pressure was tested at the rail at idle and it was normal.   However, that testing was done a month ago and things have gotten worse since then.

Injectors are Bosch 630cc.

Can you swap to a different set of injectors? I realize that will be complicated by the fact that you can’t just slap a spare set of stock injectors in. Or send your injectors to get flow tested/cleaned? Might be worth checking where the injectors seat into the rail and the condition of the o rings in the manifold.

Before I do that I am going to swap in my spare wideband sensor and see if it is just my logs not reading correctly.

The current injectors are Bosch 630cc.  I sold the 650cc Seimens injectors, so the next biggest size I have are 465cc, so not going to work.  However, the injectors don't explain the cutout at high RPM.

Replaced the AWD collar on the XC70. Angle gear was ok thankfully. This is the first time I’ve ever been in car when the collar went, it’s quite the sensation.

Replaced my control arms. Not as bad as I remembered it to be, and it was definitely good to get rid of the old arms.

Yup. Also got the newer model RSRR's on the M3.

I love them. For the money I can't think of anything stickier.

Daily Firestone Indy 500's. Weekend toy Federal RSR's or the newer RSRR's

Oh sweet! I'll take a look at both of those and see how much they are compared to the RE71R up here.

I have an extra set of Volans and was thinking of using them as a dedicated set of wheels for autocross. Would the RSR or RSRR be okay for track use too? I've heard the RE71Rs don't hold up well to extended heat and will pretty much melt away after a few hot laps.

A lot of people say the RSR's or RSRR's get gummy after long stints but we've never had a problem.
The RE71Rs are super fun/sticky but they marble up corners. I think everyone just knows its a cheater tire (no where near 200 tread wear).

I just like the Federals for the bang for the buck. I'm sure everything similar is better (RE71, AD08, Rivial, RS4, V720) but for like $400 for all four tires. I can't complain at all.
I'll take a .1 second hit for saving hundreds of dollars.
