Wow, they have you drunk on tha punch. I worked for coca cola and I didn't realize I was drunk on tha punch until I passed a mirror on the way to bathroom one morning, yeah they were coca cola boxers. I haven't looked back since. When you work for a company they will sing you the BS lines long enough until you start humming the same song in your head.

Listen real real close and you'll hear the world’s tiniest violin, playing for Chevron.

Just bustin your bizzalls though ;) , you have a point but we all need to realize that these facts are mostly brought to us by people or companies that have an interest in the subject. How about a third party? Can I get a third party? No press, no government, no company how about a non-profit individually funded third party investigation on the practices of all involved. <_<

Haha, you're absolutely right. They have brainwashed me fairly effectively over here. I realize it, but I can't really avoid it. I have to belong to something post-fraternity and college days.

The teeny violin is going to stay tiny for a while, though. I'd say that I'm safe for another three decades at least.

That's cool, you should write a children's book.

I think the rest of us are discussing the economics behind step 2...and how the cc is paid for.

This topic is entirely too complex for a forum!

Which is why you have a PM.

you need to stop "internet yelling" like a tool they said that 2 years ago that they would go up and up and up.. well guess what? prices went down to from $3.50 to $2.80 in 2 years.. and now thye are back up to $3.30... they go up and down.. calm down.

"you" need to realize it is a free country. people need to quit telling others what to do "you need to this, you need to that", like other facist tools love to tell others what they "should do".

what are you gonna come waterboard me for using caps on the net? get over it.

this just goes back to my example, although a little off subject, it is just like the war. People love to go around pointing fingers and cheerleading a war, telling others "what they should do". people seem to love to do that and this just continues to prove that.

now I'm glad I put that all in caps because it deserved to be well emphazied, this ignorance and naivety is the reason this country and government is so screwed up, corrupt, corporate controlled and broken. most people have no clue about what is really going on.

they go up and come down. you honestly believe they will be coming down and will come down to even close to offest the amount they will continue to go up? it's just not going to happen. they come back down after demand starts to drop excessively when prices are raised too much. they continually feel out the market to see how much people will pay and bring it back down accordingly but they will keep gradually going up. they know people need depend on it and will continue to take advantage.

it is amazing how people just believe whatever general propaganda they are told, again that is why we are in the mess we are today and this country along with our economy is going down the drain so quickly. most people also believe the fairytale that Federal Reserve is a branch of the Government working in the interest of the people, not privately owned and controlled by a few private bankers for profit.

People need oil.

Oil is a resource in which the supply is ultimately diminishing.

That creates higher demand, creating higher prices.

People will still fill up at the pump because they need to drive to work to make the money they use to pay for the internet they argue on.

Does anybody even know how big a barrel of oil is?

Typical barrel of oil is 42 gallons. At 108 dollars a barrel, you're looking at $2.57 a gallon. If it grew at the gas stations, well, gas would still be expensive. If you haven't bought a Prius already, you probably won't anytime soon.

I like the people saying that oil companies are turning a huge profit on us, but at the same time are modding 14 year old volvos so that their mpg goes down and they need more of this oil.

We should be more focused on the rising economies of China and India, and what THAT will be doing to world energy supplies, not Mr. Hummer in Southern California.

+1. It also seems that the fighting between turks and kurdish rebels has had something to do with the spike in pricing this winter.

My father has a Prius. We put flame stickers on it, added 10hp .... no joke. Pictures tomorrow.

On August 17, 2004 a barrel of oil was $46.

I was simply saying that if they are that concerned about oil companies turning huge profits, you'd think they would make a more economical/conservative decision with how much oil they consume.

Futures at $108 + a barrel today. Heard a girl whining why she should have thought twice about buying that new SUV on NPR.
