What year? I don't know much about them but I *think* it would be a good matchup with your car.

What are you running now time wise?

Those are the stock stats, right? Not including his mods?

Your chances are much better from a roll I think. Try to take it from a roll if you can, blame it on your torque limiter and say how it would only be fair on a roll (since it is PARTLY the torque limiters fault). You might be better off from a standstill, too, if he doesn't know what he's doing. A lot of quick pickup truck drivers seem to think slamming on the gas and having the wheels smoke is a great way to go fast.

Should be a good race then.

Definitely go from a rolling start first. Then say you've had enough if you lose, and if you win give him the chance to prove himself from a standing start.

if your car is setup and tuned properly... with all the mods i would think it should give him a pretty darn good run, but last time i checked i dont think you had all your stuff sorted out.

If you are talking about beating a Silverado SS there is no comparisson to a lightning. The lightnings are much faster. From a 60 mph roll to about 120 or so you should be able to beat him. Lightnings are fast, but it is still a truck and its aerodynamics are not going to be good at all over 80 mph. If you thought Volvos were bricks.....

As long as those are the only mods he has, it should be close. With your car being manual, it will give you the edge.
There's a guy here with a modded Lightning that is fast as stink. There aren't many non-V8 cars that can keep up with him.
I'd say go for it.

You should pull him solidly.

Lightnings are pretty quick, but unless he has a pulley, you should do alright.

Not with intake and exhaust wink.gif

I have friends with the said setup that run 13.9-14.2 at 98-100. Seems to be par for the course with that level lightning... Chris should handle one pretty well.

I got my years mixed up again. Always do that with the SVTs. The 01 is the new generation, and it will probably kick your jerk from a standstill. From a roll you might have a chance on a good day (WINDDDDY!! HEADWIND IS IN YOUR FAVOR).
