LOL

why is that so funny? obviously if you get something in teh basecoat and want to fix, then yeah do some fixing on it, but in general when you put down a base coat, you have about a half hour flash time between coats without sanding between base or clear.

Because every car has clearcoat.

White cars don't, at least not mine. And yes, it's original paint.

Lots of good info on single stage white paint here.

Obviously, you sand base coats during the painting process. You have to. But, that isn't "color sanding"

"Color sanding", is, by definition, is getting a mirror finish on the final coat, after clear coat, before wax, sealer and glaze.

So, fail back atcha. Re-read the OP article, and learn.

Because every car has clearcoat.

Apparently I am becoming too subtle.

Here I'll make it easy

New Reply: LOL So you cannot color sand any car that doesn't have clear coat?

Holy cow...how about I make it easy for YOU?;

"Color sanding" is sanding out the final coat to obtain a mirror finish.
It can be done on paint, or clear-coat, whatever the final coat is.
Sanding a base coat before shooting the clear is not "color sanding".

Thanks for playing, have a good day, I am finished with this thread.
