I believe he used the flywheel that both ViVA and a VS vendor in the UK sells that is meant to allow the M66 to be mated to a single mass style clutch kit hence the single mass flywheel.

Viva lists the flywheel to work with M66 as a direct replacement, meaning to work with the dualmass clutch. http://www.vivaperfo...manual-gearbox/

They link to a Spec kit (SO603FS) that is listed to work with both the stock dualmass flywheel or their singlemass replacement. It also gives the option for sprung or unsprung disc depending which flywheel you're using. http://www.vivaperfo...-t5-c30-c70-t5/

Hmm. I thought you were supposed to use a dualmass clutch kit with that flywheel? Your pressure plate looks like one from a singlemass kit. Which Spec kit did you get? I searched but couldn't find where you mentioned it.

Do you have any pics of when you tightened down the pressure plate originally? Did the fingers fully retract at that point?

The measurement from the ring gear could be close to the same as original if the fingers never sat correctly.

You set the boost control valve to 0 duty cycle and it still overshoots the wastegate spring pressure by that much?? I have the 10 psi spring and it barely creeps above that on a hard pull if set as I mentioned.

As for the clutch, I was going to say that you could probably just use the sprung disc that comes in the 850 SO133F kit since it's probably the same thickness, but the input shaft on your trans is probably larger? I think it changed in 2002? That's not to say that they wouldn't have something suitable. Maybe try contacting Spec, but I would wait until you have the clutch out so you can determine what exactly went wrong.

I can only imagine how pissed you must be.

Try not to give it too much thought until you can assess the damage. Give it a few days, start taking it apart and hopefully most of it is salvageable..
