Yeah lucky will do you right... A Good looking 60 like that deserves another chance.
But beware, the performance drug is highly addictive... ;)

How did your pistons look after 30K?
Which pistons are they... do you remember, im looking at their catalog now

Hope I'm not imposing too much on this thread, only trying to properly answer the question. You may have to call them, I sent them an OEM piston, told them I wanted a forged billet, and the coatings, and that's what they delivered.

The photo above is after 30K, I should have clarified that it ran for 30K with the bent rod, I wasn't even aware it was bent, and was in the process of investigating my oil consumption, and this happened...

BTW what tune and turbo were you using to bend the rods like that?.

18T with IPD Stage III tune, 17 psi boost.

Looks like your off to a great start. If you really are going with a bigger turbo, and you have the engine appart, IMHO it is foolish not to go to the added expense of H beam rods. I'm a photo geek, and some times they help to make my point.

From my first build, OEM rods that had all stress risers removed, shot peened, cryo treated and balanced. The pistons are Ross Racing, ceramic tops with anodized skirts.

stuff happens on any tune...30K later and one big detonation...

Your passion and drive on this project are unmatched. It least your lady doesn't have to worry about your whereabouts evenings. She must be a very tolerant sole.

I did get it cryo treated but who knows how much that helps.

It’s music to my ears when ever I hear of anyone buying into the benefits of cryo treatment. I'm the main advocate around here, as far as I've seen. It's most likely helping more than you know which the main problem with the process is; lack of empirical data to support it, short of before and after metallurgy.
