A nice hard power wash will remove all of that yellow coating junk. I think that was sprayed on for corrosion resistance when being on the boat ride across the pond. Grab some steel wool and work all the parts before the polish. I followed this method and mine came out looking very good!

In Topic: Right Side Cv Clunking

I just had a complete cv axle failure last night. I was driving home, turned left onto the highway, and when i went to accelerate, BAM. The passenger axle joint (the one that sits near the engine) completely failed. The boot was in perfect shape, and the car drove good without any clunks or vibrations. It was an OE axle with 114k on it.

Any cause or reason? It's a 2001 S60 with a manual.

Any tips to change? I've done it on my S70 before. Is it pretty much the same?
