S70 Or V70 Sunroof Surround/grey
13 May 2012 - 09:16 PM
Just what the title says. Need a gray surround for my sunroof in my 850 wagon. Every other English speaking country uses grey but here in America we use gray...I use both....sorry.
Noisy A/c Compressor
10 May 2012 - 08:37 PM
So, a few years back I replaced my evaporator, dryer, a/c lines, compressor and condensor. I added the proper amounts of PAG oil to each piece of the system. I pulled a vacuum and filled the system with freon. Much to my chagrin, there was a hole in the condensor. Time pasted....I sourced another condensor, installed it and refilled the system again. The air blows cold but the clutch is cutting on and off too much. Also, the compressor is making a loud sound almost like knocking but not quite. Can't really decide if it is the compressor or the clutch making the noise. Again, air blows cold but it is just too noisy to run. I was wondering if anybody else has had symptoms such as this???
What brought this on in the first place was the old compressor locked up on a trip. It didn't make any noises like this one does now. I have another compressor I could try, but not really ready to tackle this job again. It's about time for a timing belt, water pump and tensioner change so I guess I will try to switch them out at that time.
Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated.

Wiring For New Overhead Console...?
15 March 2012 - 11:20 PM
The weather has finally cleared and it is warm enough to finish my beige to grey headliner conversion. Went out today and did the sunroof shade. Got it back in and was about to start on the rest when I remembered I would like to have power to my new overhead console (the ones from the S70 have the lighted buttons). When I bought the grey one, the seller was nice enough to send me the plug and a bit of the wires. The only difference between what is in my 850 and what came out of a S70 is the number 8 wire which is yellow and purple and the number 2 wire has two going in where as my original only has one. I'm thinking that number eight might be the one bringing power to those lighted buttons. If so, can I splice it into a wire that is already up there or should I run a wire from the dimmer switch or something else behind the dash to give it power? So, in conclusion, can anyone verify what wire powers those buttons and where should I get the power to run them?
Thanks for any and all help.
