Looking for a pair of oem x70 foglights in good shape for use in a projector retrofit. Don't really want to hack up mine just yet. Located in CT but will cover shipping if located elsewhere.
So I tried to track down all the old posts relating to retrofitting Bosch Mini H3 projectors into the stock foglight housings. The best writeup I could find was Oreo931's (link) but the images are gone and I had a few questions for anyone else that did this mod.
1. What materials and adhesive were used / recommended to seal the housing back together. 3M foil tape and 5200 adhesive? I can't find any images of the finished retrofit so I don't know how much the back of the projector housing would be exposed to the elements.
2. Since hidplanet doesn't seem to stock them anymore, are these the same ones Serge, Oreo931 others used? (link) I'm more concerned about the mounting bracket on the the projector and whether or not there are other configurations that would work better. Also if anyone knows a less sketchy source of buying these let me know.
3. H3C bulbs seem the way to go if you're putting HID's in them correct?
4. Long shot: does anyone have pictures from a foglight projector retrofit they can post? I PMd Serge and Oreo931 but I don't think they have the images anymore.
Kind of a long shot here, but a friend of mine is looking for a set of Satellites to replace the worn Antilas on his car now. Anyone in the MA/CT/RI area looking to let a set go? Shoot me a PM.
